Chief Risk Officer

Jim Hilty is the Chief Risk Officer for The Bancorp, Inc. Based in Wilmington, he has more than two decades of experience in the banking industry. Hilty is responsible for the overall risk management of the company including managing the loan review function, coordinating internal control testing and audit services, and overseeing quality control reporting within the Payment Solutions Group.  

Hilty began his career with The Bancorp, Inc. in 2004.  Prior to joining The Bancorp, Inc. Hilty served as Senior Vice President and Credit Officer at Harleysville National Bank, overseeing the Workout and Credit Department functions.  He was previously employed for 11 years at the former JeffBanks, Inc. where he was responsible for the loan review function.    

Hilty served as a director for the Philadelphia Chapter of the Risk Management Association (RMA) from 1994-2005, including serving as the President of the Philadelphia Chapter for the 2003-2004 term.  Hilty continues to play an active role in the RMA, both locally and nationally.

Hilty holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Pennsylvania State University.
