D. Gideon Cohen
Chairman of the Board
D. Gideon Cohen has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors at The Bancorp (holding company) since September 2000, and until January 2004, as Chairman of The Bancorp Bank. He currently serves as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of the Bank, and Vice-Chairman of the Bank, while serving as Chairman of the Holding Company. From 1999 through 2000, D. Gideon also served as Chief Executive Officer of the Bank.
D. Gideon has been the Chief Executive Officer of Cohen Brothers Financial, LLC and its subsidiary, Cohen Bros. & Company, an investment banking and securities firm, since September 2001. From 1995 until September 2000, he held senior executive positions with Resource America, Inc., a publicly-held energy and real estate finance company, serving as President and Chief Operating Officer beginning in 1998. Gideon is also a Director and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of TRM Corporation, a publicly-held provider of public access Automated Teller Machines and copier machines. Gideon is the son of Betsy Z. Cohen.
